New Mexico Delegation to the Democratic National Convention Unanimously Pledges to Kamala Harris
Following a meeting of New Mexico's delegation to the Democratic National Convention held Monday evening, all 45 delegates and 3 alternates are pledged to support Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign for President. Additionally, the entire New Mexico delegation endorses Harris’ candidacy.
Democratic Party of New Mexico Chair Jessica Velasquez released the following statement:
“Every member of New Mexico's delegation to the DNC was already entirely pledged to support the Biden-Harris Administration, so it is no surprise that every single one of our delegates is choosing to continue supporting Biden’s Vice President and former running mate now that she is leading the Democratic ticket.
”The enthusiasm behind Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign has been overwhelming. We are thrilled to bring this energy to our uniquely historic Convention in Chicago. New Mexico Democrats are united, energized, and galvanized in support of our Presidential candidate and shared Party values. ”
