NM Democrats Overwhelmed GOP in Early Voting

Today, the U.S. House Republicans passed the SAVE Act, another GOP attempt to place barriers to voting on eligible immigrants, Native Americans, and other voters of color.

House Republicans Ram Through Voter Suppression Bill

Early this morning, House Republicans passed Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” by a vote of 215-214 that would cut over $1 trillion from social safety net programs and force nearly $500 billion in cuts to Medicare over ten years, while still adding $2.4 trillion to national debt.

Republicans Vote To Gut Healthcare & Food Assistance For New Mexicans To Fund Tax Breaks For Billionaires

Today, DPNM calls on Republican Party of New Mexico fundraiser keynote speaker, and racist social media grifter Nick Shirley, to “investigate” RPNM for fraud and corruption, or drop out of their event.

Today, on the two-year anniversary of the US Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision, overturning nearly 50 years of legal protections established in Roe v. Wade and destroying the federally protected right to access safe and legal abortions for Americans in many states, the Democratic Party of New Mexico released the following statement:

Two Years After Dobbs Decision, New Mexico Democrats Reaffirm Commitment to Abortion Rights

An educated populace is the cornerstone of sustainable democracy and the single most important driver of economic prosperity. Children and adults have a right to affordable, high-quality education that enables them to pursue the career of their choice and to participate meaningfully in our society. The state of New Mexico must fully fund an equitable system of education from pre-K to college or career and provide collaborative oversight of resources spent on public education alongside local educational authorities.

In a Rio Grande Sun article that covered her trip to Artesia, Nella refused to give direct answers when asked about her stance on abortion and attitude toward Trump.

40 days into her campaign for U.S. Senate, No-Answer Nella still has yet to explain to New Mexicans where she stands on the most important issues facing our state and country. But actions speak louder than words (and certainly more than silence), and her actions show an extreme, far-right stance on reproductive health care that would decimate these rights in New Mexico.

Democrats will remove obstacles for workers, public and private, to exercise their right to organize, form, and join unions. We recognize that unions contribute to building a stronger middle class, as well as their crucial role in fighting for living wages, fair work rules and hiring practices, and safe working conditions. In the absence of a state-based living wage, unions have been shown to close the earning and wage gaps, especially for women and communities of color. Unions have democratized our workplaces and help to counterbalance the overreach of modern monopolies, providing a much-needed check on the unfettered socioeconomic stratification of our society.

Last week, Donald Trump gave an interview to Time that revealed a shocking glimpse of his plans for a potential second term. After 113 days on the campaign trail, voters still do not know much about where No-Answer Nella stands on issues, but it’s clear that the candidate, who moved back to New Mexico while being recruited to run by national Trump allies, has more in common with the former president than she wants to admit.

Trump and Nella: Too MAGA For New Mexico

Not very many voters have heard about the radical Republican, but here’s what they should know ahead of tonight’s debate.

“Who’s Steve Jones??” The Extreme GOP Candidate For NM’s First District

126 days into her campaign for U.S. Senate, the multimillionaire former hedge fund executive has only doubled down on voter concerns that she’s out of touch with New Mexico.

Nella’s candidacy checks some boxes that point to being another failed MAGA candidate too extreme for New Mexico:

No-Answer Nella’s MAGA Candidate Checklist

Everyone has a basic right to be free from coercion, exploitation, economic injustice, and violence, including harm imposed by private and corporate degradation of water, air, and soil. We support a multi-faceted strategy for public safety including law enforcement, intervention and treatment, and a comprehensive layering of firearm safety policies. We support safety and economic justice for all.

Public Safety

54 days into her campaign for U.S. Senate, “No-Answer Nella” has unequivocally leaned into her well-deserved nickname as she has remarkably still not given a single interview. At this point, voters should question if Nella is even taking running to represent New Mexico seriously.

No-Answer Nella Continues to Quietly Coast Through Self-Funded Campaign

Democratic Party of New Mexico Chair Jessica Velasquez issued the following statement on Nella Domenici’s entrance into the Senate Republican primary:

DPNM Statement on Nella Domenici’s Senate Filing

Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa and Democratic Party of New Mexico Chair Jessica Velasquez issued the following joint statement on Greg Abbott’s latest border distraction: “Earlier this month, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced the placement of razor wire fencing along the Texas-New Mexico border north of the Rio Grande near Sunland Park, NM. It’s clear that Governor Abbott has no plans on actually addressing our broken immigration system head on.."

Texas and New Mexico Democrats Issue Joint Statement on Greg Abbott’s Fencing Along Texas and NM

Democrats must act now to secure our water future. We must support equitable, evidence-based, water planning, management, and stewardship.
Today, No-Answer Nella’s first TV ad of her campaign hits the airwaves in New Mexico, kicking off her campaign to buy the election with a half million dollar ad buy.
No-Answer Nella’s TV Ad Gives No Answers on Issues

Every American, especially people of color, women, and other marginalized communities, has the right to a job that provides for adequate food, housing, clothing, health care, recreation, and protection from the economic fears of old age, illness, or accidents.
Yvette Herrell Continues to Try to Hide Her Anti-Abortion Stance from Voters

It’s official: the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) is opening up their campaign war chest to prop up Nella Domenici, multimillionaire former hedge fund executive and Mitch McConnell’s hand-picked GOP recruit for Senate in New Mexico. Even in her op-ed titled, “New Mexico needs a moderate bipartisan senator like my dad,” Nella alluded to issues facing our state while failing to provide readers with a single concrete idea about how to solve them.
