Albuquerque, NM - On the 11th Anniversary of the September 11th attacks, the following is a statement from DPNM Chairman Javier M. Gonzales:
"Each of us remembers where we were 11 years ago during the worst attack on American soil since Pearl Harbor. And just as we did during WWII, we stood united by the understanding of what it truly means to be an American. We didn't cower; we grew stronger as a nation. We stood by our fellow Americans as they mourned the loss of their loved ones. Let us renew our commitment to those who perished that we will remain strong and united in the fight against intolerance and hatred.
I know the shock and pain, the loss, and the world-changing impact of September 11th has not lessened, and never will. Please join us in taking a few moments of silent reflection or prayer to remember the nearly 3,000 people whose lives were taken that day and to give thanks that we live in a country whose values are strong enough to survive such an inhuman attack.
