Chairman Colon's Letter to Democrats: A Thank You for all the support and a call to Submit Names for Committee Apoointments

Dear Good
Democrats,
Thank you to
everyone who participated in Saturday’s State
Central Committee meeting in Las Cruces and
congratulations on being a part of something
far greater than each of us individually. The
energy and enthusiasm was certainly
noteworthy. What an
amazing time to be a New Mexico Democrat!
I would also like
to extend my gratitude to the Doña Ana County
Democratic Party, the second congressional
district officers, the candidates who ran for
office and the many volunteers who filled the
weekend with fun and exciting activities.
I hope you remain
as excited as I am about the two years ahead of
us. We are on the front line of the battle over
what direction our country will take in the
years to come and through our joint efforts I
am confident that 2008 will be a tremendous
year for New Mexico Democrats. As
Chair, I am dedicated to recruiting Democratic
candidates at all levels of government, and
working with you to raise the funds necessary
to campaign in every single one of New Mexico’s
33 counties. I will be energetic, fair and
inclusive while pursuing these goals and I need
your help.
Opportunities to
serve with the Democratic Party of New Mexico
(DPNM) are endless. I will rely heavily on input
and insight from our Affirmative Action
Committee, Rules Committee, Platform and
Resolutions Committee, and the DPNM Judicial
Council. If you are interested in serving on
any of these committees, please contact the
Democratic Party of New Mexico staff at

State Central Committee approved our 2008
Delegate Selection Plan, the
process by which we will choose delegates to
the Democratic National Convention. The first
step in the process occurs on
