Chairman's Listening Tour: Healing Field, Questa, NM

Healing Field: The community programs that became a National Movement

Healing Fields are displayed for the purpose of promoting and supporting charitable causes in making the flag of the United Sates of America available for patriotic, educational and charitable purposes. On the one-year anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy a symbolic field spontaneously emerged. This event grew into today's Healing Field and Field of Honor programs. They are a symbol of freedom, liberty, honor and respect for the ideals and principles symbolized by the flag of the United States of America.

The original Healing Field, a September 11th memorial field for the victims of the World Trade Center disaster, was first displayed on the one year anniversary of September 11, 2002. That field raised over $20,000 dollars for charity. In 2003, the second year anniversary, the program had been established nationally and viewed five fields in cities across the country. Millions of dollars have been raised for charities and community programs and service organizations in the past few years. Thousands of individuals experienced some form of healing and personal fulfillment through participation in, or visits to, the living flag memorial events in their communities.

Every year for Memorial Weekend the Village of Questa hosts a healing field to honor the New Mexican Men & Women who have fallen in war.
