About
Judge Nan Nash was appointed to the bench on
January 30, 2003 by Governor Bill
Richardson. Twice nominated by the District
Court Judges Nominating Commission,
Judge Nash brings a wealth of experience to
the Second Judicial District Court
Family Court Division.
Prior to her appointment, Judge Nash served as
a Special Commissioner of
Domestic Violence and Family Court Hearing
Officer for seven years. During her
tenure as a hearing officer, Judge Nash served
on numerous task forces and
committees addressing family violence and
other related issues. Judge Nash
co-chaired the Task Force to Standardize
Orders of Protection in New Mexico.
Her diligent work paid off with the Supreme
Court's adoption of uniform orders
of protection that are used throughout the
State, making enforcement of Orders
of Protection easier, and keeping victims of
domestic abuse and their children
safer.
