Labor Day Statements from Diane Denish and Brian Colón

(ALBUQUERQUE) -- Diane Denish and Brian Colón today made the following statements in commemoration of the Labor Day holiday:

Diane Denish:
"This Labor Day, as we face unprecedented economic hardship, we must commit ourselves to digging out of these tough times and helping New Mexico's working families who are struggling to get by," Denish said. "That means making sure payday lenders don't drain people's savings. It means standing up to insurance companies that want to jack up rates by double digits. It means fighting to attract jobs that offer good pay and decent benefits. It means investing in job training to make our workers more competitive. This Labor Day, let's commit ourselves to putting New Mexicans back to work."

Brain Colón:
"Let's take some time this Labor Day to step away from the barbeque and think about what this holiday represents. Working men and women have made this country great and we will not turn our backs on them now when the times are tough."
Denish and Colón have busy schedule of Labor Day events from Wagon Mound to Las Cruces, Santa Fe to Albuquerque.
