Although Congressman Steve Pearce touts he is veteran, he has a miserable record with regards to our veterans. This is a real issue in the election. When he was our congressman, instead of acknowledging that more money was needed for veterans' health care, Congressman Pearce told veterans in Tularosa, New Mexico, "that problems with VA health care are the result of abuse by veterans and their families of an 'entitlement' program. It's very difficult to get fraud and abuse out of entitlement programs I am very suspicious of entitlement action," said Pearce.

A local veteran responded by telling Mr. Pearce in no uncertain terms: "This is not entitlement, but something we've earned."
