In Case You Missed It...Gov. Martinez's boasts about her ability to improve business climate in-state just don't mesh with reality.

In fact, over the last year our state actually dropped in the rankings, according to an annual survey of the nation's top CEOs.

It's understandable that Martinez wants you to think her policies are leading to a better economy in New Mexico -- after all, she told us over and over again that her election was the key to "create a business-friendly environment to help our state’s private sector flourish and create jobs."

She also said her top priority would be business. But don't buy the hype.

Here's what Joe Monahan (about halfway down the page) had to say about the story:

"...she subscribes to much the same philosophy of Johnson, casting a high number of vetoes and convinced that less government regulation will pave the way to prosperity. The administration boasts that it has dramatically improved the state's business climate in its opening year and a half, but the nation's top CEO's apparently don't think so.They rank the state 33 out of 50 for conducting business and that's down from 32nd in 2011, Susana's first year in office...."

It turns out that slashing the incentive for the film industry - and the thousands of jobs it creates year over year - and directly laying off thousands weren't such "pro-growth" policies after all.

Want to see how Susana's doing on business? Just ask New Mexicans, who gave her a "C-" on Job Creation.

In the meantime, we've now experienced 26 straight months of job growth thanks to President Obama, who saved the American auto industry from extinction and is investing in long-term, sustainable industries like green energy that stand to have a huge direct impact right here in New Mexico.

The middle class is counting on us to keep working, and there is still a long way to go until we reach a place of economic stability.

But all this bad news for Republicans, and a brand new story from Bloomberg News showing that over the last 5 decades"almost two-thirds of private-sector job growth" were generated by Democratic presidents, and it starts to look like the toughest pitch Mitt Romney and Susana Martinez have to make this year could be convincing the American people that they can be trusted to run an economy.
